About Northam Platinum Limited:

Northam Platinum Limited (Northam) is a primary producer of platinum group metals (PGMs). The company’s main customers include jewelry industries and motor manufacturing.

The Northam Zondereinde mine, located in the Limpopo province of South Africa, is an established PGM mine producing approximately 300,000 PGM ounces annually. Zondereinde is situated on the northern end of the western limb of the Bushveld Complex, near the town of Thabazimbi, and is in proximity to the Pilanesberg and Waterberg Reserve.

About the Northam Zondereinde Bursary Programs:

Northam Zondereinde offers two types of bursaries for the 2025-2026 academic year:

Northam Zondereinde External Bursary:
- Fields of study: Various mining-related qualifications (see the list in the original message).
- Eligibility criteria:
  - South African citizenship
  - Currently in Matric or completed Matric
  - Intending to study one of the specified mining-related qualifications
  - Acceptance or provisional acceptance to a South African university or university of technology
  - Excellent academic performance, with a minimum Matric result of 60% for all subjects
- Bursary covers: Tuition fees and other study-related expenses (at the discretion of Northam Zondereinde).
Northam Zondereinde Employee Trust Bursary:
- Fields of study: Any undergraduate qualification (does not cover postgraduate studies).
- Eligibility criteria:
  - South African citizenship
  - Dependent (child or spouse) of a Zondereinde Employee (Category 02 – 10/B – C4)
  - Zondereinde Employee must be permanently employed (from A – C Band)
  - Minimum overall average of 60%.
- Bursary covers: Tuition fees and other study-related expenses for undergraduate studies.

Applicants should register an account before logging in and completing the application.
Use the appropriate code when applying to specify which bursary you are interested in: “ZEHR 22/23” for the Northam Zondereinde External Bursary or “ETBS 2023/08” for the Northam Zondereinde Employee Trust Bursary.
Include “Uni24.co.za” in the field asking how you heard about the Northam Bursary.

For the Northam Zondereinde Employee Trust Bursary, shortlisted candidates will also need to submit proof of employment at Northam Platinum.
