About Limberg Mining Company
The Limberg Mining Company (Pty) Ltd (LMC) operates an opencast mine near Thabazimbi in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Established in 2008 after acquiring exploration rights, LMC has expanded its operations to include the mining of chrome ore and Platinum Group Metals (PGMs). Limberg Mine Bursary Programme 2025-2026
For the 2025-2026 academic year, Limberg Mine is offering a bursary programme for students pursuing studies in specific engineering fields. The bursaries are aimed at supporting studies in Metallurgical Engineering and Chemical Engineering, reflecting the company’s commitment to its Social and Labour Plan III and long-term operational needs in mining.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Limberg Mine Bursary, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens.
- Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Be studying or have been accepted to study towards Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
- Be enrolled or have been accepted at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Students from historically disadvantaged groups will be given preference.

Interested students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply by submitting the following documents:
- Certified copy of their ID document.
- Certified copy of Grade 11 final results and Matric mid-year results (if currently in Matric).
- Certified copy of the Matric certificate (if Matric has been completed).
- Full academic record (if already studying).
- Acceptance letter from a tertiary institution (on institution’s letterhead).
- Curriculum Vitae.
