Sasol Foundation Bursary 2025-2026

About Sasol:

Sasol Limited, established in 1950 in Sasolburg, South Africa, is the first oil-to-coal company in the country. It’s listed with the New York Stock Exchange, United Nations, and Johannesburg Stock Exchange and is globally recognized for its chemical and energy production. Sasol operates in two main markets: Energy and Chemicals. The Energy business focuses on gas, liquid fuels, and mining, providing mobility and energy solutions while exploring renewable energy sources. The Chemical business encompasses Performance and Chemicals, aiming to meet client needs and urbanized household demands.

Sasol is dedicated to addressing the talent shortage in South Africa and has been voted the Employer of Choice in the Energy and Chemical sector for five consecutive years. The Sasol Foundation’s bursary programs have played a significant role in transforming various sectors.

About Sasol Foundation Bursary:

The Sasol Foundation invites students to apply for the Sasol Foundation Bursary for the upcoming academic year. The bursary is available under two categories: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Non-STEM.

STEM Bursaries cover fields such as Agriculture Science, Computer Science, Education (majoring in STEM subjects), Engineering, Health Science, and more.

Non-STEM Bursaries are available to Sasol Khanyisa shareholders, children of Sasol employees, and students from Sasol’s fence line communities (districts around Sasol Plants, operations, and municipalities).

Recipients of the Sasol Foundation Bursary will be selected based on criteria such as acceptance to a South African public university or university of technology, academic performance, citizenship, and household income. Selected students will also receive psycho-social support, workshops, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), student discussions, and more.

Preference will be given to financially challenged but academically talented students. The bursary panel reserves the right to cancel a candidate’s candidature if their academic performance deteriorates during the bursary period.
